In Washington, DC, the wall decides the job. A brick rowhouse on Capitol Hill asks for one approach, a drywall apartment for another, and we plan the mount and the cable route around the room you actually have. We arrive when we say we will, leave the space clean, and back the installation with a warranty of up to 3 years.
Capitol Hill is known for its historic brick rowhouses, yet the neighborhood tells us little about what sits behind your TV. Old finishes, patched plaster, exposed masonry and ordinary drywall each call for a different decision, so we look at the real surface and what supports it before choosing hardware. Mention any cracks or past repairs, and point out original trim you want to keep clear of the screen and cables.
Brick and concrete get masonry anchors matched to the TV and the mount, and the condition of the brick and mortar decides exactly where we anchor. Tile is drilled slowly and carefully. Drywall without studs can carry a TV up to 55 inches on snap-toggle anchors with a fixed mount, or a tilting mount for a smaller screen, but never a full-motion arm. A fireplace changes the plan as well: its type, heat and mantel all shape placement. We never cut into brick or stone to hide cables; a cord cover keeps the route tidy without carving a channel through the masonry.
… Installer was on time prompt, communicated his arrival time. Clean and efficient. …
… Zero mess, and he double-checked the position with me before finishing up. Super efficient and professional - highly recommend! …
Yes. Concrete gets masonry anchors chosen for your TV and bracket. Let us know about the wall ahead of time, especially if a previous installer gave up after drilling, and we confirm the spot on site. Cables on concrete go in a slim cord cover rather than into the wall.
A crack by itself doesn't tell us whether that spot can hold a TV. Old plaster cracks or separates for different reasons, so point out recurring cracks and past repairs before we begin and we'll judge both the finish and what's behind it. Fresh paint is not proof that a wall is ready for a mount.
Ask management whether drilling needs approval, what paperwork they expect from a contractor, and when work is allowed. Edmonds School Condominium, for example, sets its own vendor requirements and work hours; those are one building's rules, not a citywide schedule. Permission sits with you and your landlord or association. Just pass any visit requirements along to our team.
Tell us where the technician can unload and which entrance leads to your room. DC has residential parking restrictions, and DDOT publishes information on ParkDC arrangements for guests and contractors. Check the signs and options for your address before the visit, particularly when a large screen has to come in from the street.
No. DC's preservation guidance generally exempts interior changes from preservation review, with an exception for specifically protected historic interiors. That says nothing about how your wall is built and doesn't override your building's own rules. If your interior has protected features, clarify their status before picking a mounting spot.
Yes. Tell us which devices connect to the TV and where you'd like the cables to run. On drywall, we hide them inside the wall wherever the wall allows. On brick or concrete, we use a paintable cord cover. We don't carve channels into masonry just to hide wires; the cover gives you a neat route you can still reach.
Yes, for TVs up to 55". Where there are no studs, we use heavy-duty metal snap-toggle anchors: they open behind the drywall and spread the load, holding far better than plastic anchors. We use a fixed mount here (a tilting mount is fine for smaller TVs), never a full-motion arm — its leverage pulls on the drywall. For larger TVs, or when the TV must hang exactly where there are no studs, we open the wall, add horizontal wood blocking between the studs, close the wall and mount to solid wood. That's extra work we agree on with you before we start.
A standard mount on drywall takes about an hour for most TVs. Hiding the wires inside the wall, mounting on brick or concrete, a soundbar or a very large TV adds time — usually up to 2–3 hours in total. We don't rush the job to squeeze in more appointments, and we tell you the expected time before we start.
Yes — honestly, it's our favorite kind of job. A complete setup simply looks better, and we love getting it right. We have our own soundbar mounts, or we'll use yours if you already have one. We also install shelves for cable boxes, consoles and receivers — we've done a lot of these setups and know how to make them look clean. Samsung The Frame is one of our favorites too: we set up the One Connect box and mount the TV so it hangs flat against the wall like a picture.
