TV mounting questions in San Diego

I rent in San Diego. What should I check before drilling?

Talk to your landlord about the wall you have in mind and how the holes should be handled when you move out; getting that in writing helps. We're glad to mount the TV now and take it down later, but we can't promise you a full deposit refund.

What should I send you for a 75-inch TV installation in San Diego?

The TV model, a photo of the wall, and details of any mount you already own. The screen size alone doesn't tell us which setup your room needs, so we check the mount's size and weight rating along with the wall's support before deciding how to install it.

Can you hide my TV and game-console cables in my San Diego home?

Yes. Tell us where the console will live so we can plan the cable route together with the screen position. With a drywall wall, the wires run hidden inside it. On brick or concrete we use a slim, paintable cord cover; we don't cut into masonry just to hide cables.

Can you patch TV mounting holes when I leave my San Diego rental?

Yes, we can take the TV down and patch the holes. Let us know how many there are, and talk through your landlord's expectations before the visit. Patching and repainting are separate tasks, so don't assume the patch alone settles the move-out requirements.

My San Diego landlord rules out mounting above the fireplace. What else works?

We'll help you weigh another wall your landlord allows, with the screen centered near seated eye level. A good TV stand is another option. What we'd steer you away from is a higher, less comfortable spot chosen just because the wall is empty; start from the seating and the walls your landlord allows.

Can I choose any wall for a TV in a Crown Bay condo?

Check the current building documents first. Crown Bay's published guidelines require approval for concrete drilling and separately prohibit TVs supported by, or touching, shared walls between units. Ask management which location is acceptable before booking. These are Crown Bay's rules, not rules for every San Diego condo.

How high should a TV be mounted?

In a living room we put the center of the screen at seated eye level — about 42 inches from the floor for most sofas. In a bedroom, where you watch lying down, we go higher: the center is usually around 48–55 inches. We measure to the center of the screen, not the bottom edge. We don't hang a TV "gallery high" just because the wall is empty. If it has to go higher (over a dresser or a fireplace), we use a tilting mount angled down so you're not craning your neck.

How long does TV mounting take?

A standard mount on drywall takes about an hour for most TVs. Hiding the wires inside the wall, mounting on brick or concrete, a soundbar or a very large TV adds time — usually up to 2–3 hours in total. We don't rush the job to squeeze in more appointments, and we tell you the expected time before we start.

Do I need to buy a TV mount?

No. If you already have a mount, we'll install it — as long as it's rated for your TV's size and weight. If you don't, just tell us when you book: almost always your technician brings a suitable mount — fixed, tilting or full-motion. We won't install a mount that isn't rated for your TV or your wall, even if you've already bought it; we'll suggest a safe replacement instead.
